Fellow Presentation :

My name is Anushtha Verma, and I am a doctoral student at Université Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium. My research focuses on the "Legal Aspects of Open Science," supervised by Prof. Julien Cabay and Prof. Jean-Marc Deltorn. My goal is to develop a comprehensive Open Science Legal Framework that upholds the principle of "as open as possible, as closed as necessary" throughout the research process. This involves analysing legal frameworks related to data access, data analysis, and the exploitation of research results, with a particular focus on open licensing strategies. In the later stages of my PhD, I will apply these frameworks to real-world projects within the FAIROmics initiative.

I hold an LLM in Technology Law and Innovation and an LLB in International and European Law from the University of Groningen (Netherlands), where I developed a strong foundation in the intersection of law and technology. My academic interests center on copyright law and data law.

Being part of the FAIROmics consortium allows me to integrate theoretical research with impactful, real-world applications. What I find most exciting about this work is its interdisciplinary nature, which fosters collaboration across different fields and perspectives.
