Fellow Presentation :

I’m Flore N’kam Suguem and I am a PhD student at the Institute of Mathematics of the Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III (UT3) and will have a secondment at the University of Bologna (UNIBO), Italy.

After being some studies at the University of Dusiburg-Essen in the department of Mathematics, I went ahead to pursue a degree at the Bachelor’s level in Health Sciences at the University of the People. I then pursued a Master’s of Science in Artificial Intelligence at the International University of Applied Sciences in Bad Honnef, with a thesis on « Scenery recognition techniques for optimised autonomous driving ».

Now at UT3, I will compare optimal transportation and other approaches usually used for database integration. This comparison will mainly be oriented to practical applications, but theoretical works are still to be done. I will also try to extend the tools already available in the R package OTrecod to address more problems of database integration and missing data imputation issues.

The unique opportunity offered by the Fairomics project allows me to work alongside people from different academic and professional backgrounds, teaching me a lot about different cultures and their intake on aspects in and out of the academic realm. I am very excited to be part of this stimulating project and would like to contribute to different projects related to Biology, statistics, optimal transport in data science and Artificial Intelligence.
