Jean-Michel

Jean-Michel holds a PhD in Biochemistry and a Doctorat d’Etat ès Sciences from the University of Paris. After initial woks on heme biosynthesis in yeast and mammals he focused on the characterization of the molecular basis of heme and iron related genetic diseases (porphyria, Friedreich ataxia). Since 2000 he sets at the Jacques Monod Institute a new core facility dedicated to proteomic analysis fully equipped with state-of-the-art mass spectrometers and appropriate equipment, and run by a team of highly qualified engineers, He still develops experimental and computational methods to address the critical problem of quantitative proteomics at the intact protein scale.
